The Physical Education program is designed to assist each student to attain maximum physical, emotional and intellectual development. Interacting with their peers and engaging in a wide range of activities is an integral part of education at Gladstone Park Primary School.
Whilst the specialist Physical Education teacher provides weekly lessons, students also participate in regular sports activities as part of their classroom curriculum.
Year 5 and 6 students have the opportunity to participate in summer and winter interschool sport, athletics and cross country events against neighbouring schools.
The highly skilled year 5 and 6 students are offered the opportunity to trial for ‘Team Victoria’ sides. These opportunities help to develop students’ skills while demonstrating the type of talent required to represent Victoria in sport.
Year Prep – year 4 are offered an intensive swimming program at Broadmeadows Leisure Centre.
Prep students participate in the Perceptual Motor Skills program which develops students’ perceptions and understanding of themselves through movement experiences.
